From the Scottish Borders to textile conservation and craft education across the UK

1990s

Early Years in the Borders

Learned to knit from her grandmother using locally-sourced Shetland wool in the Scottish Borders. These early lessons planted the seeds for a lifelong passion for traditional textile crafts and authentic British wool varieties.

2006

Degree in Textile Design and Conservation

Completed formal training at Edinburgh College of Art, specialising in textile conservation techniques. This education provided the technical foundation for understanding how heritage fabrics age and how to preserve traditional knitting methods.

Textile Conservator
